Forge Pond
The MUA draws its raw water from the Forge Pond and four 2,000-foot deep wells which tap into the Raritan Magothy aquifer.  With restrictions on the amount of water that can be drawn from underground sources,  the authority relies on the river for 74 percent of its water needs, which now averages seven million gallons a day.  Pictured right is the the MUA's raw water intake building.
