DIRECTIONS TO THE RESERVOIR

From Trenton:

Take 195- East to exit 31A to 547 south, continue to 1st traffic light and make a left onto Herbertsville Road (Route 549 East); continue straight to fork in the road and bear left onto Route 21 East.  Continue on Route 21 East crossing under the Garden State Parkway overpass, just past The Trinity Bible Church make a right onto Metedeconk Road.  Continue straight (passing reservoir on the right) to traffic light, make a right onto Herbertsville Road and continue approximately ¼ mile to reservoir entrance on the right.


From Garden State Parkway North:
Take Parkway Exit 90, after the exist toll bear to the left ext ramp and continue to the traffic light; make a right on Burnt Tavern Road, continue to the 2nd traffic light stay in right lane – cross Lanes Mill/Burrsville Road and take the jug handle to access Lane Mill Road.  Continue straight on Lanes Mill Road to 1st traffic light and make a left onto Sally Ike Road. Continue to next traffic light – intersection of Herbertsville Road and Sally Ike Road make a left onto Herbertsville Road – Reservoir is on the right.

From Garden State Parkway South:
Take Parkway Exit 91 at the 1st traffic light take the jug handle for a U-turn continue straight on Chambersbridge Road which turns into Lakes Mill Road to the end to Burnt Tavern Road.  Make a right on Burnt Tavern Road , continue to the 2nd traffic light stay in right lane – cross Lanes Mill/Burrsville Road and take the jughandle to access Lane Mill Road.  Continue straight on Lanes Mill Road to 1st traffic light and make a left onto Sally Ike Road. Continue to next traffic light – intersection of Herbertsville Road and Sally Ike Road make a left onto Herbertsville Road – Reservoir is on the right.

From Brick Utilities to Reservoir:
Exit driveway left onto route 88, 1st traffic light make right onto Jack Martin Blvd.  At next light make a left onto Burrsville road.  Continue to 2nd traffic light make a left at fork onto Sally Ike Road.  Continue through next traffic light at Herbertsville Road.  Continue straight - Reservoir entrance is on the left.

From Route 70:
Route 70 East to Herbertsville Road jug handle. (1st traffic light before Crystal Point.) Straight on Herbertsville Road. After 3rd traffic light, Reservoir entrance is on the right.


HOURS OF OPERATION

The Brick Reservoir will be open to the public Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.  The hours of operation will be as follows:

April 1 - December 15:  6:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
December 16 - March 31:  6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

  • The Reservoir will not be open on any Federal or State holidays. 
  • Due to inclement weather, the reservoir will be subject to intermittent periods of closure during the winter season.


PERMITTED USES


The Brick Reservoir is first and foremost the water supply for currently over 100,000 residents in the northern Ocean County area. We are happy that we are able to provide some limited passive recreation at the Reservoir site. The following rules and regulations have been crafted with the protection of the water supply as a central concern. All visitors to the Brick Reservoir must abide by the following guidelines for their own personal safety, as well as the environmental safety and security of the Reservoir ecosystem.

  1. No Littering


  2. No entrance to restricted areas at the Reservoir as posted.


  3. No Swimming.


  4. No Boating of any kind.


  5. Artificial lures only.

  6. Fishing is permitted in the designated fishing areas only.


  7. No cleaning of fish on Reservoir property.


  8. No fires.


  9. No hand sleds, bobs, tubes, carts, skateboards, bicycles, roller blades or other vehicles on wheels or runners, including flying objects.


  10. No radio controlled devices such as boats, planes, & cars.


  11. No alcoholic beverages, drugs or narcotics shall be consumed or distributed on Reservoir Property.


  12. No loudspeakers, public address systems, or amplifiers of any kind. Personal audio equipment, musical instruments or any other sound producing mechanism should be kept at a level that cannot be heard more than 100 feet from the source.


  13. No Ball playing


  14. Parking in designated parking areas only.


  15. No vehicles, including bicycles are to be driven past the designated parking lots
